Elmbridge Ladies Choir

Elmbridge Ladies Choir

Ladies Choir, Cobham, UK

This colourful and energetic 90-voice ladies’ choir is based in Cobham, Surrey.

Formed eight years ago by Cliff van Tonder as a sister choir to the mixed voice Elmbridge Choir, this non-audition community choir is directed by Christine Parker, who was herself originally a choir member. The choir welcomes ladies from all backgrounds, regardless of musical experience or knowledge – the only requirement is a desire to sing!

The choir’s varied repertoire includes contemporary pop and rock, traditional folk songs, ballads and show tunes. The ladies’ passion is evident in their captivating performance, often including a little choreography to engage with their audience!

In doing what they love best – performing! – the ladies take great delight in fundraising to help others. Together with Elmbridge Choir they form Surrey Music which has raised more than £180,000 for charities and worthy causes.

As well as a regular programme of fundraising concerts, Elmbridge Ladies Choir has sung live on local radio, recorded a CD, appeared in a television commercial for T-Mobile and performed on stage with UK pop group ‘Blake’.

Elmbridge Ladies Choir has previously taken part in choral festivals in Krakow, Veneto, Bratislava (where they were awarded a bronze diploma), Croatia and Malta.
