Thinking of singing in a choir festival in 2020....?

Let us tell you why you should choose the first ever Brighton International Festival of Choirs, and join us right here in the United Kingdom!

Your choir will have plenty of opportunity to perform to other choirs and to the visiting public in some amazing and unique locations in Brighton, from beautiful churches to the seafront promenade, in a series of planned concerts and performances in and around the city.

Your choir will be able to participate in a variety of choral workshops and masterclasses over the course of the festival, led by several eminent choral leaders – a fantastic chance to get to know other choirs and learn from the best in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Compete or just sing for fun!

You may choose to enter our choral competition which will take place over two days in front of a panel of distinguished international judges, with the chance to win a cash prize for your choir! Categories include mixed voice choirs, male and female choirs, LGBTQ+ choirs and chamber choirs.

Alternatively, you may prefer to opt for the non-competitive track which will include the same performance and workshop opportunities as the competitive track.

All choirs will be invited to attend a special masterclass led by Dr Russell Robinson, Emeritus Professor of Music Education at the University of Florida, USA, to learn one of his own compositions which will then be sung in a grand ‘massed choir performance’ in our Festival Concert in St Peter’s Cathedral!

An Opening Parade and a Grand Concert finale to die for!

Your choir will be able to experience all the sights that Brighton has to offer, including a guided tour of Brighton Pavilion and free time to explore Brighton independently.

All choirs will participate in a fantastic seafront opening parade (don’t forget to bring your flags to wave!), and then enjoy a traditional seaside supper and free time on Brighton’s iconic pier!

The highlight of the weekend will undoubtedly be the Finale Concert held in the magnificent Brighton Dome on the Sunday evening, where the winning choirs will have the chance to perform, together with some other exciting headline acts. A truly memorable occasion in a stunning venue!

We promise a warm and friendly welcome, and together we’ll make memories to treasure. Four days of fun, laughter, joyous singing and choral celebration – what are you waiting for?
